Scanly Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-20

Scanly is a document scanner. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

What we do not collect

Where data is stored

Account information and scan metadata are stored in a private MongoDB instance. Page image bytes are stored in GridFS in the same MongoDB. The server is hosted privately and accessed over HTTPS via Cloudflare.

Sharing

When you create an invite link to a folder, anyone with the link can request to join. The link's permission level (view / upload / admin) is decided by you. Members you approve can see and (depending on permission) modify the contents of that folder until you remove them or revoke the link.

Your choices

Children

Scanly is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
